Help Out - Volunteer

Volunteers Always Welcome!

We have a small army of committed and very much appreciated volunteers, but we always need more for our five-day-a-week meal service program.

Most volunteers commit to one day a week, while others work occasionally as substitutes. You may be interested in becoming a kitchen assistant, have a passion for baking, consider becoming one of our bakers or become a driver that delivers delicious meals and enjoys our clients! No specific skills are necessary, just a desire to help!

We love to work with corporate, community/civic, and young professional groups, schools, students fulfilling service hours and others. A variety of opportunities are available or be creative and suggest a new idea!

Volunteers say...
“As a volunteer delivering meals, I see firsthand the positive impact Meals on Wheels has on the people we serve. The recipients not only receive nutritious meals but a friendly face to check up on them. I am proud and humbled to volunteer for such a wonderful organization.” ~ Julie P.

“Volunteering at Westlake Meals on Wheels has been a wonderful opportunity to meet wonderful people from all walks of life. I enjoy the kitchen camaraderie we have created to serve our recipients.” ~ Chula

“I am involved in multiple volunteer activities as a retiree—Meals on Wheels is my hands-down favorite. It’s an opportunity to provide one-on-one contact with an individual who may not see another person all day. Imagine being able to bring relief from hunger and loneliness—food and human contact are very basic needs. By the way, my 91 year old dad was so impressed with the Meals on Wheels mission, he has made donations to fund this very important role in our community. It’s a great opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life; one visit at a time.” ~ Deb D.
